🦋 Sep 27 UPDATE: Raise The Migration 2025❓
Outlook for Final 9 Minnesota Monarchs? 🤔
Happy Weekend Royal Raiser,
it’s a glorious summerlike weekend here with sun, 80 degree temps, and a garden filled with bountiful blooms.
That being said, the monarchs know when it’s time to migrate from other environmental cues they receive from shortened days, and most importantly, wind direction…when the north winds started blowing, our visitors promptly took flight.
Here are 6 of them from last Sunday:

While the garden has emptied of butterfly wings, there’s a chance this next warm front could bring one more wave of migrators through the garden for some migration nectar nourishment.
Of course, there are also 9 monarchs here in their chrysalides waiting to join the 2025 fall migration, and they’ll have unseasonably warm weather to help get them off to a fast start…

Raising Report
This has been a quiet week. We’ve released 6 monarchs (so far) with the last joining the garden migrators on Sunday, September 21st. When the north winds blew in Tuesday, the garden monarchs began/continued their journey south.
9 monarchs are still developing inside their chrysalides ⬅️ and most will emerge in this extended summery weather, which has has highs in the 80’s through October 3rd.
Because of these balmy highs, its probable all of these monarchs will be released the same day they emerge if the butterflies eclose in the morning hours.
